IMPORTANT! The more modifiers in a Portal, the slower Portal updates will process. Using a generalized modifier name that can apply to a broader spectrum will benefit overall efficiency. (Example: Use "Size" instead of "Shirt Size", "Pant Size", "Shoe Size", "Hoodie Size", etc.).
- Go to Inventory > Modifiers.
- Under Group Name, use the search field (change filter to "Contains") to see if the modifier exists. Use partial terms such as "shirt" instead of "T-shirt" or "Shirt Size" to yield the most related results.
If the search yields result, see if the existing options will work to avoid redundancy.
If the search yields zero results, proceed.
- Click + NEW MODIFIER GROUP.
- In the GROUP NAME column, enter the modifier label (i.e. "Size").
Modifier names cannot use symbols or special characters such as parentheses, colons, forward or backward slashes, etc. Don't use dates to avoid having to create new versions for new dates.
- Leave the DESCRIPTION column blank (optional field).
- In the SELECT MESSAGE column, enter "Select". (If universally used as an optional modifier, the message should be "Select (optional)" if not specified in the name.)
This is the standard message and can be adjusted as needed.
- In the COMMANDS column, click UPDATE.
- In the GROUP NAME column, enter the modifier label (i.e. "Size").
- To add options, click the arrow next to the new modifier.
- Click + NEW MODIFIER.
- Under the NAME column, enter the modifier option.
If possible, avoid using years to reduce the number of future entries.
- Under the COMMANDS column, click UPDATE.
